Default To all rookies: Step-by-step article on how to go racing

I've been wanting to write one of these for a long time now, and finally got around to doing it. I'm hoping it covers everything a first-time racer needs to know when going to his or her first race, give it a read and let me know what y'all think. Any comments, suggestions, or additions are welcome either here or on my fivetwentyfour Myspace page.

Hope I get some more people into racing!

I know it's kinda written for a Sportsman Truck electric offroad racer, which I think is what a lot of newbies pick up as their first racecar, but I tried to generalize as much as I could so it would apply to any form of racing.

Thanks for the props guys. Something else I'm looking for is starting methods, I've only known about IFMAR and live wire starts because that's what we use around here. If anyone knows any other methods by all means describe them to me and I'll add them to the guide.

what about le mans style starts? the cars start echelonned along the side of the track, and they all start at the same time and fight it out

Saw a few threads from people asking about going racing, so I thought I'd give this a *bump*

That was an awesome write up!

I know that took a lot of time and dedication. Thanks for sharing that with us.

Nice work, have a suggestion if I may, and at the risk of being redundant. Admit I didn't read word for word, but some of the beginning, and scanned along. Liked what I saw. Hanging out at the track and shop to begin with is absolutely excellent.

Did I miss the some of the basics, like do you need to have a pit table, chairs, is power available, extension cords, is there food?

Have heard good things about your track, not all of us are so lucky! Especially outdoors in the summer, can't wait!

Cheers!
