i myself prefer nitro. sure its a little harder to keep up wit. but the pur of the engine and the smell of the nitro is gratification. (nothin gainst electric). i'd go wit gas. as for good truck, savage not so much a track truck, but is a fun one to beat and bash. pretty tuf.

I like both, to be honest both have pros and cons but just to be out there competing is really cool.....I have a couple of nitro trucks and 1 electric....I have alot of fun with all of them....The choice is yours...I have nothing bad to say about either

Electric all the way! 4 wheel drive buggies with brushless motors run circles around most gas cars at our track.

i know one thing, there was one race at my local track and there were 4 cars, the 1 electric and 3 nitro, the electric one just took off where as the nitro one has to build up its speed. The Electric will pretty much go as fast as it can pretty much as soon as you pull the trigger. Consider that! oh and the guy with the electric car did not win because he broke a part near the end

electrics ups:
- plug and play
- reliable
- better acceleration
- faster than nitro ( if you have lipo and brushless )

nitro ups:
- nice sound and smell
- just gas, and prime, and put glow ignitor on, and turn the engine over, and tune the hsn, and then the lsn, and then drive!
- higher top speed than most electrics ( usually brushed motor electrics)
- big, rough, and loud noise!!! YEAH BABY!!! WOOHOO!!!

electric downs:
- batteries have to be recharged, which takes about 45 min+
- usually cost more (in equipment)
- more dangerous (nimh's can explode, ive had it happen...)
- usually smaller vehicles
- requires more "voodoo" to get the most out of the battery, motor, tires, etc.

nitro downs:
- breaking in engine, time consuming.
- tuning. too rich= slow/boggy, too lean=damage to engine
- dirty. slime gets all over car, dirt sticks, gets nasty
- maintenance - ugh...
- less acceleration than electrics
- potential hazards ( burning fingers on engine head, etc. )

just listing some things here. hope they help!

If you do decide to go nitro offroad then you might want to get a truggy or buggy like from ofna because everything except those two classes are dying.

i would still go with gas cause it has that great sound of power.
but you might have to spend more if u buy nitro .
but if u get electric u can run it inside but u have to wait longer to charge the battery.
but the gas has the smell of nitros in the air which i like.

with elecric you can't bash for as long, because if you havnt got acces to a charger once your batteries are flat theyre flat, whereas if you get nitro when you run out of fuel you just put more in.

As for myself I had brushless 1/10 & 1/8 nitro car. If it's raining day I switch to electrics & play indoor. If's sunny day go outside the track and run the 1/8 car at full throttle.

You can't expect much run time for electrics. Mostly can run around 5 mins or more depending on the car setup & track. You need to buy lots of standby batteries by discharging & charging them after play. Dismantling and swaping the batteries also a bit of tedious job. Need to open body shell too. If you are using the resistor & bulb discharger. You need to monitor else your batteries got dead shorted.

As for nitro, I can play as long I like. Just refill for few seconds and go.
