TA04-R with Tamiya Stock Type RR motor. what pinion?

What gear is appropriate for my setup? They say the 45t pinion that comes with the kit is too high.

Someone suggested about 38t... what's your opinion?

try the stock pinion on ur track and after a full batt's pack check if the ESC and the motor is TOO HOT.meaning it will burn ur hands.
also check if top speed and punch is there or not/
usually with stock motors the gearing is high to get more speed.

TA04 internal drive ratio 2.1333333
depending on what motor u are using...
it can vary for 5 odd to 9 odd
for stock motor you could gear pretty low..
around 5 odd to 6 odd is pretty common for stock

i geared my 04r at 120 spur with 45 pinion running Type T stock motor.
after dumping 1 3300mah batt pack, the temp is still ok.
my friend tried at 112/45,but the motor is terrible hot after running...
