How to remove part stuck with thread lock

Having an issue removing front axles from my B6. I am able to remove the screw holding the axle in but the axle will not release from the bearings. Trying to do this without damaging the hub. Please advise

Sometimes they pop out easy and sometimes you have to stick an allen driver inside the hub and hit it on something to get it out. I know it doesn’t sound healthy but you should be fine. A couple hits on a table and it usually pops right out.

a little heat... thread - lock releases at 250 degrees (F)... look it up.. you do not need to believe me.

boiling water....( 212* ) but will soften it..

propane cigarette lighter... many ways..

plastic melts at 325.. so do not over due it...

Heat. Preferably with a cigarette lighter with a small flame so you can control the position precisely.

Heat works

Heat will work like others have said but don't overdo it or you'll melt the plastic (assuming it's plastic)

Will brake cleaner work? If it needs heat, how about put it in an oven at 250 so it can all be done at once?

If the part is stuck due to threadlock on it, then acetone will help. Little bit at a time and let it stand for a few minutes to dissolve the threadlock. Use caution around the plastic parts since I'm not sure how it will affect the plastics on your car. I've used this technique many times on my VBC and AE chassis parts. I also soak screws, setscrews, nuts, and washers in acetone to remove threadlocker. Works great! Let us know how you make out.
