Whats the big pro-con argument between the Miss Geico 30" and the Revolt30?

I know the MG30 is a Catamaran and the REvolt30 is a DeepV hull.

I wont be running it in open water, just the man made lakes at the campground for the most part.

friend has the motley crew catamaran, i think its about the same as a miss geico but people can correct me if wrong. The catamaran drives really nice, turns great and is quick. Taping the top to the body helps in case of flips, flipped it today and was able to rescue it, flip it and keep going without issue. It's pretty stable in normal operation and quick on 4s. in terms of catamaran vs V hull I've driven his spartan which is V and feel a lot more confident with the catamaran. Both are fun to drive but I had more fun with the catamaran cause i didn't feel like i was going to flip it on most of the time and the catamaran drives like its on rails.

That plus for the most part still water (only waves are from wind), sounds like the catamaran would be the better choice.

I'd go with a cat. You'll have to tweak out the bounce, but you'll get there.

Pretty much just get your CG at about 9-10" from the transom. For the most part, where you place the lipos is how you'll find your CG. Then set the boat down on the edge of a flat table, and set your strut a little higher than level, with a little bit of a neg/down angle. There is also "blueprinting" the hull, but we dont need to go into all of that... Also you will absolutely need to upgrade the bullet connectors to 5.5mm bullets or bigger, for the motor, and battery leads. I went with 6mm myself. You can get away with the stock connections for a while, but you're risking a burn up, and stressing your lipos.

For what it matters, I believe stock for stock, the Revolt is faster on 4S and can run better in rougher water (I now you will mostly be on a glassy lake). Also, right now, the Revolt is $100 cheaper for the RTR.

Get a Revolt 30. Just got one as my 1st boat and I can't say enough about it. It's $90 cheaper than the Impulse and has better hardware. Get it from tower. They gave $40 off any order $300 or more.

EDIT: Found a sweet deal on EBay. $199. CHeck there first.

Sucks about your charger.

Cat took a little bit to get rid of the bounce on my Blackjack 29 (same as the Gieco). I raised the strut pretty high and milled the mount so I can point the prop down. If you don't want to have to do all that go with the v-hull.

"Cheaping out" is spending less to get less. That said, it would not be cheaping out much to get a Turnigy Mega 200Wx2 with all the same functionality. You would lose the AC though, but you would have $175 left to put on a $199 Revolt! But if you don't have a power supply, then that's another $50+, but still over a hundred in the pocket for a boat. To each his own, but I spend as little as required to get the job done "well" so I can have more stuff. If I didn't just by a second revolt and two 4s packs today (and wasn't getting a Gopro Black ed soon) I'd be buying this charger.
