Rx Corrosion
#1
My local track put in a boat racing pond, so we’re running Proboat Blackjack 24’s as a spec class. The radio tray is fairly open, and we’re getting some glitching due to water & corrosion on the pins. The Rx’s came coated, and I’ve added another coat of conformal coating, but I’m still having issues. The latest round I tried coating/filling the connections with silicone grease, but still had a few problems. I suspect I may need to install new plugs on the servo & ESC…. Questions for the boat experts:
1. What grease is recommended for Rx & terminal coating?
2. Are there any corrosion resistant connectors or terminals I should get? I have a crimper for shortening servo leads.

When I raced electric boats years ago, I would pack the receiver, and esc full of dielectric grease with no issues. That was during the time of brushed motors, Nimh batteries, and 75 mhz radios.
