Default Suggestion for Radio/Servo and Lipo Charger

I'll be buy a 1/10 4WD Truggy soon, i have chosen a 3674-1900kV Tacon motor with a Hobbywing 100A ESC rated for 2-4s.

What suggestions for a Radio and servo to stay around the $80 mark.

Also need decent a lipo charger - budget friendly.

Thanks
Arnold

Check out the RadioLink RC4GS:

For a cheap servo , check out the JX brand:

For a decent budget charger, any AC6 series will do, check out ValueHobby:

What is budget friendly? And it all depends on what your intentions are for use.

For ease of use and pretty good specs...Ultra Power UP120AC Duo has been faithfully serving me for the past year. You can usually find them at great prices. Just gotta shop around.

If you can get one for 80 I would suggest that too.

Plus one for the radiolink radios. I have the older versions and they have been consistently good. Plus receivers are dirt cheap.
For racing I just didn't like how soft the wheel and trigger was. I added a spring to the trigger but you can't do much with the wheel.

I've tested 3 types of servos from JX... the basic $13 version was okay, but it would tend to glitch if you violently shift the steering back and forth at full swing, probably fine for a basher, but not really acceptable for a club racer IMO.

Then I tested the $25 Coreless version and that was solid in my RC8T3e... after 4 race days I eventually upgraded to the $50 Brushless version and have since moved that servo into my ET48.3 with probably a total of around 10 race days on the brushless servo, I also bought another brushless servo for my EB48.3 and have about 4 race days with that one too. They are super smooth, strong and great balance between value and performance for me.

I have heard of a couple others who haven't been as lucky as me with JX servos... one guy smoked one in his crawler and it burned up within a very short period of time... another guy had burned up one in a truggy after just 4 minutes of use... so it's not clear under what circumstances caused the failures and/or they could've been duds from the factory. One guy ran on HV and the other ran on 6V, both claimed to have set the endpoints properly, but the second guy did say that he heard the servo got stuck at full lock just before it burned up. It's not clear to me why the servo got stuck in full lock... was it a radio issue, etc? I need to go back and ask those guys which brand of radio they were using... but unfortunately that forum is currently down indefinitely. When the forum comes back up I will ask both guys and if they are using the same brand of radio, then I might think it could be an incompatibility with that brand of radio perhaps. I know of one guy who had problems with Spektrum radios losing their EPA settings and consequently getting brownouts on his ESC, after switching brands of radio he never got a brownout ever again.

I'll continue running my JX servos and will update my videos if I run into any problems down the road, but I think you'll know very quickly if you got a dud or not, so keep that in mind just to set expectations and also use PayPal just to have buyer protection too.

Hello!

This charger I use, it has got all basic functions which you need for proper handling with lipo battery.

I ordered one....
All my stuff is getting old and breaking at the same time.
So replacing it all at once is going to kill me.....
Cars are parked for now!!!
All I can do is try some of this cheaper stuff.........
We mostly bash on my home Oval with a jump on it..
My race cars I will keep putting the good stuff in.
