Servos for short course

I need a servo that will last a really long time it needs to be strong have metal gears and relatively quick. Anyone have any recommendations. I don't really want one of those cheap off brand ones because they dont last long.

What's your budget and is it 2wd or 4wd?

It's not $60 but the best bang for your buck servo I know of is the xpert 4000 series with the orange case. It's more than enough torque and it's very speedy for the price. Plus it can run low voltage so even if your ESC has a weak BEC, you won't need to worry about brownouts.

You can't really get all of your requirements in a $60 servo unless you go off brand.

Look for a spektrum S6090, awesome servo IMO. All steel gears and high voltage compatible. Not available new but all mine are used still function like when i bought them.

Are there any jx servos that will last longer than a week.

The only time I'll use those type of servos is for lightweight applications like touring cars or F1. For a short course, spend the money on a nice one and you don't have to worry about it anymore. The xpert is great value

It would have a much better chance. As long as you set the end points correctly there is no reason it shouldn't

+1 on Xpert. Run a Xpert 4431 in my TD DESC410 and it is speedy AF and strong. 19.5kg, 0.08sec @ 6.0v. I don't even need a bec.

Caradha 07-29-2017 06:16 PM

Oh and i have a JX servo in my Helion 410SC and so does my brother. They are both great and neither have died on us so you must be doing something wrong if they dont last more then a week. JX 6113MG, 0.10sec, 14kg @ 6.0v in the brothers car. JX 6221MG, 0.16sec, 20kg @ 6.0v in my helion.

Are the brushless jx servos any good the cored servo i had burned up quickly and how long have you had those.

Caradha 07-29-2017 10:14 PM

We have had one for 6 months and the other for 10 months. Both are Coreless and have been used regularly.

KyleRC 07-30-2017 08:31 AM

Are the metal gears holding up well because my jx 6221 is wearing very badly and is about to strip. I heard that the 6221 is not the best jx servo.
