Hi Guys
I got a 2s 6000mah Lipo 50c - just running it on slash STRC LCG Chassis (so a bit heavier) Vxl3 & Velineon 3500 combo
Put a full charge on it, but every time i run it the LVC cuts in. Turn the LVC off and no issues, but obviously would prefer to have it on to protect the battery.
So then i check the Volts and its at a full charge.
Battery has only done about 10 cycles.
Any ideas or is it time to chuck the battery?
Thanks for any advice

To me it sounds as if the battery voltage drops significantly under load. Possibly over geared causing excessive amps. Also the "gray area" of the traxxas' peramiters may think it's a 3 cell as well. Only thing that honestly comes to mind if none of the above is the case is that battery isn't true rated on C ratings. A 50c is plenty to hold proper voltage unless it's burst C rating. In which case it's giving all that the battery has to give, but the esc and motor want more. Hence the significant voltage drop under hard acceleration.
A better esc which has adjustable features would also bring your slash to life using the same velenion motor you have. And it would tell you more info as to what's happening.

It's highly unlikely that the lipo has gone bad after 10 cycles unless you have over discharged it previously. All things being equal my guess is that the esc is expecting a 3s lipo and the LVC is set as such. You should check with the manufacturer to see if this is the case.

The higher discharge rating just means the battery can supply that amount of current at any given time. It's not going to make your car any faster than with say a 30c battery, but it will feel like it has more "punch" for a longer amount of time and the battery itself won't be as stressed since it's not being used to its full capacity. Higher discharge is always better when you can afford it IMO.

how old is the battery?
Did you pull it out of storage and then get 10 cycles before it started acting up or is it a brand new pack? If new, where did you buy it from? Was is a very old pack from stale inventory that has sat on the shelf for a long time before you bought it? If so, I would do a capacitance check with your charger on the next charge cycle after a full discharge... if the capacity is underrated then I would do a warranty claim where you bought it.
If the pack is old, then I would budget for a replacement... disabling the LVC would be a decent work around, but if the problem persists with a known new pack then something else is going wrong...
When's the last time you reset the ESC and re-calibrated it? Has it ever been overheated?
