Default Lipo Discharging

What all are you using to discharge your lipo batteries? I currently have a Hitec X1 and X2. Only problem is you can discharge at 1 amp. Is there anything out there that always you to discharge at a faster rate for storing a battery?

you need a charger capable of higher discharge or run the car past 3.8v per cell and have your charger store it back up.

My favourite way is with my RC. Then charge it in storage mode.

Old school still works...

And of course you gotta monitor the voltage of LiPo packs. For that I just use a LiPo alarm plugged into the balance lead.

I set my LVC to the max setting... anywhere around 3.4-3.6v/cell and that usually lets them come back up to around 3.8v/cell at rest which is ideal storage charge... so I simply run my packs to LVC at the end of each race day, no fuss no muss with discharging

Are you still doing this & how do you hook up your pack to the volt meter/alarm? I run race packs 2s 7.4v that have bullet tube connectors , any help would be appreciated

The battery alarm/meter connects to a LiPo pack's balance plug while the main leads are hooked up to discharger.
Something like this:

Next time you buy a charger, go ahead and upgrade to a Junsi charger and an external power supply. You'll never look back man. I have an X4 AC pro or something from Hitec I bought to be able to keep my daughters and wife in batteries when they all go racing stock buggy but man you can't beat the horsepower on a Junsi charger. I use that for my stuff and I can put all of their batteries plus mine and the spares in storage mode on that faster than I can do just one on the hitec. Either run em down in the car or use the whatchamadoodle those guys are using for now I guess because you're right, that 1a discharge is a pain.
