Using a Lipo with a vintage esc?
Tried searching and could not find an answer, if I use a 2s Lipo on a vintage esc that can handle it, will it throw off the balance of both cells? I don't want to kill my Lipos if this is the case.
I plan to run a vintage esc and brushed motor with Lipo, I will have a low voltage checker plugged of course. If this has been discussed I apologize in advance and if you can point me to the thread. Thanks, |

Thanks, EDIT: though you'll probably want to attach a low voltage alarm since I am sure that ESC won't have a LIPO cutoff setting. |

Your esc has no idea what type of battery you're using. Voltage is voltage. Avoid over discharging and you'll be fine.

I have a couple old e-powered planes that are still running brushed power systems that do not have a Lipo voltage cut offs. What I do is put the plane up for a set amount of time, say 5 minutes, and land. I check the voltage and charge to see how many Mah used and then adjust my flying time from that....this has worked for me for well over a decade.

Thanks guys!
