MRT used to have a trade up program, you could send them any MyLaps transponder, or older transponder, even broken, and it was something like buy 1 new, and get one free with the trade in:

I would send in to my laps. They have replaced both of mine under warranty with new ones.

If you bought them new from them. Buying used, you're out of luck. I tried.
