for one what ESC, and a lot of times it turns out rather pricey, cost to benefit wise. Especially how affordable new ones are. A lot of times manufacturers even have Refurb ones, that carry the same warranty as new.

Either way what ESC are you looking to get repaired?

curious who sells refurbs? I haven't seen that before.

I've only heard of a couple brands who make repairs to their ESC's outside of warranty for a nominal repair fee, Tekin and Novak... however Novak is no longer in business. Some other manufacturers will honor replacement ESC's under their warranty period which can vary from 30 days up to a year. Some brands (like SMC) will give a deep discount if you buy a replacement ESC from the same manufacturer. Almost all brands require you to buy from a US authorized distributor if you try to get warranty protection from a US based service center.

I've had the best luck with HobbyWing brand of ESC's if you want to get one that will stand the test of time:

But you have to catch them when available.

Thanks for pointing this out, I'll definitely keep an eye out for them in the future

While we are making a list of links, I'll throw mine in.

Warranty / Service Department

Castle offers trade in/trade up programs. Own a non working Castle ESC that is out of warranty? Ship it to us as a trade in and we'll sell you a brand new ESC for 50-60% of retail cost(depending on model). Have a non-waterproof ESC that needs new wires? We will replace those for $10-15. Sadly we can not repair our waterproof ESC as they encased in a hardened epoxy shell that is very difficult to remove. All repairs are done in our facility in Olathe, KS.

AE/Reedy has a similar trade-in program: https://www.teamassociated.com/news/...hange_program/ but after you pay shipping, many of the trade-in/refurb "deals" don't really look that great.

What brand speed control do you need help with?

I'm pretty sure there's no one who repairs ESC's on their own. It's too much work and too expensive. Most companies (see above) will repair or replace (probably replace) their own ESC under warranty. And if it's out of warranty they may sell you one at 50% off retail. Other than that, it may be time for a new one.

FIX a FRIED ESC!

And here is a good one because it was fried when someone hooked up to reverse polarity. I can't imagine ANYONE doing this, but I hear it does happen.

Burnt ESC? How to Revive a Dead ESC?
