Default Help with viper esc

Hi I have a question with my viper esc. I bought it used and the capacitor wires were soldered too close togather for my comfort. This is a black edition. When I tried to unsolder them the connector came loose. Just a black piece connecting +&-. It looks like it has metal squares on it for solder location. However I got it too hot and it melted. Now my question is can I just solder the wires to the battery connector posts or am I screwed now?.

Yes, you can solder to the battery connector.
