Default ESC PROBLEM AND QUESTION (ORION)

I have a 6 month old Orion R8.1 esc. Last week during a race it started acting like it was overheating. I lost forward power (it would try to go but wouldn't like it had 1% power or something) still had steering and the lights were still working. I temped it straight off the track and it was about 125. The motor temped about 155. If I wait a few minutes and run it again it would run 3 or 4 minutes and do the same thing. Does this sound like an esc issue? Thanks for the help!

Did you try replacing the sensor cable?

I did not... I guess that would be the easiest and cheapest way to start.

Also check that the timing on the can of the motor is set correctly. Someone at our track had a similar problem. It was cause by the motor can rotating around to a high negative timing as he was missing a timing screw.
