Default Anyone use Bat-Safe?

There is a decent (and recent) thread on another forum about this and it looks pretty good, was on kickstarter and now selling via the web. Other than that, not much since it's new (February 2016).

I'm a newbie and Lipos scare the living heck out of me so I am currently figuring out how I am going to charge and store them....Ran into this.

Thoughts?

It's $49 bucks...doesn't that make it compelling?

It looks like it's more than your typical fire safe w/ drilled holes. It's entirely insulated, supposedly making to safe to touch if you need to carry the box outside to vent during an accident.

Here's the kickstarter link that probably has more information then the website, which is not too good.

Not sure if I can post other forums links but here is the link where they talk about it:

The inventor is the same guy that developed the Rotormast V-22 RC VTOL aircraft and my guess is this box is probably more marketed towards the our propeller cousins.

So...no one has jumped on this? I may give it a go, for $49....

Yeah I like it. I will probably pick one up.

Just get yourself an ammo box from an army surplus store and save yourself some money. Lipo's can be dangerous but I feel fine having them in my house. Don't overcharge and don't puncture.

I've got a few puffed that I'll be taking to Home Depot to recycle. I put mines in storage mode at the end of the night but I know many who don't with no effect.

Yes, that was my original thought. I've also thought about Pelican cases, those small valuables key safes but all seem to have some compromises...

What makes this appealing is the fact that the grommets are built-in allowing the charger to be outside while the batteries are inside. I have seem others do this themselves but this is only $49....All of that is done for you including lining, etc.

Got my bat-safe today...Hopefully will never use it to it's fullest capabilities. But I am glad I am an early supporter of this. It was well packaged and looks very well built, not cheap or thin by any means.

I'll never fully be able to write a review on it because I don't plan on burning up my lipos...
