Default 9.6V NiMH Without Overheating

So right now I have a Team Novak 410-HPc esc and a green machine motor. I was wondering if I could run a 9.6v NiMH without overheating? And does anyone know what kind of amperage the esc should be set at. Currently it's at around 70 amps, is that good or can I go higher?

Yeah, I have looked over this. It says it can take up to 10 cells but it doesn't say how many volts it can take.
