Tekin Android app????
All
I'm sure this has been covered but I just need to ask a quick question. I found he Hotwire app in the google play store, but I only found the Beta version. I'm using a new Samsung tablet should I be able to use the proper version so I can use my Hotwire? |
That is the correct version.

I plugged it into my phone and the hot wire and nothing seemed to register. Is there something I need to do? Does the battery need to be plugged in? I don't believe it needs to be with the PC

On my phone the Android Hotwire app opens automatically, once I hook it up. |

Battery shouldn't be plugged in when using on PC or Android and I believe when you have it plugged in properly, the Hotwire device and ESC LED's will be lit when connected. If not, the phone isn't sending power properly..

Jason, you could have the plug reversed when plugging into the ESC. I did this in the beginning...Pay attention to the wires when you unplug the fan...Because you not only want this plugged in the same way, you also want your fan plugged in the same way.

It's plugged in correctly. "black out" just like any other plug from an ESC, servo, etc |
Jason, Some tablets do not provide power to the Hotwire. When you plug your HW into your tablet, does it light up at all?

Then your tablet isn't providing power. You'll need to use the battery in your car, then turn the car on once the HW is plugged in, etc.

I'm not sure if you are using the older black hotwire or the newer white one? I use the older black one and I have to use a OTG (on the go) cable, or it won't work with my samsung tablet or phone. I'm not sure about the white hotwire whether this is required or not. I program my Gen 2 spec and Gen 2 RS without any issues with my samsung table and phone using my older black hotwire and the OTG cable. Good luck.

I have the white hot wire.
I tried it using Randy's advice today. The unit came on and I could change values in the app, but when I hit "apply" a note came up that said I couldn't save the settings at this time. Am I missing another step? |
On my Sony phone and tablet i have to manually detect for usb devices then it sees the hotwire and opens the app, maybe Samsung is the same, hook everything up, no battery, go to settings -> device connection -> usb connectivity -> detect usb device.
