End bell timing no effect

I have a trinity 24K 17.5. it ahs been a rocket running about 50° timing
and 160°F at end of heats.
Took it apart and cleaned bearings etc. put back together now changing the end bell timing has no effect on the motor at all. No matter where I set it Ionly pull 1.66 amps with fresh battery and no pinion.

Any Ideas.??

50* timing is insane!

Never spin the motor with NO LOAD ....

Some times when that happens that a sensor problem..... if you crank the timing and it's only 1.6 amps chances board got damaged...and check the sensor wire as well...check it on a amp meter with a free Rev

+1 on sensor problem. Maybe the shims weren't put back correctly on the rotor and the sensor isn't detecting the magnetic field properly or something is parasiting the sensor. Do you have a sensor checker ?

Not really

I would check the way you reinstalled it. On my d3.5 8.5t motor I did the same thing. Then I took it apart again to find a shim I put on the wrong side of the sensor board. Its the shim the screws screw into. Looked like a half moon.
