Well I've been doing this awhile but I have an issue I think I have the answer to but want to be wrong. I know it sounds funny but...... So I picked up a new 3350R 4 pole motor/esc combo from Traxxas. I installed it in my 4wd slash with a 15/54 I was geared 14/54 with the old vxl system. Here's whats strange. Grab a handfull of throttle life is great but try to ease in and she cogs. So I geared down back to stock 13/54 and same thing. Grabbed a new battery (both are traxxas 4200 with less than 10 charges on them and they've been great) does same thing. Re-installed old vxl rworks perfect. I havd ran the cast 3800/mmp geared even taller with these same batteries and have had no problem. Once it starts cogging it will not stop even if you let off and get back in it, whether part or full throttle. I was very excited to try this tomorrow at races but not so much now. Cant win a race if you can only run full throttle.

Bad esc ?


Running traxxas slash 4x4
Stock gearing 13/54
Center diff installed
Stock radio
Stock tires
Traxxas fan on esc and integy fan on motor with a capacitor (I'm used to spektrum and a mmp)
Traxxas 4200mah battery
Futaba s9303 servo
Hpi d box

Looks like they are sending a new system to me.

This unit is doing almost the exact same thing. Except that it is even worse. I have tried with different batteries different caring and still the same thing. Cannot run partial throttle with the system maybe I should try a different radio? That is the only thing I have not tried

It's actually a 3350R combo. Changed motor to the old 2 pole and it does same thing. Looks like the esc is what's bad. Original vxl esc plugged back in and it works fine.
