I recently got the 3pv. Full brake clicks, gonna follow TireGlue on that one. Which radio did you end up going with Mas?

I haven't picked anything up yet. My old dx3c is working, the range just gets annoying. I'll be in Long Beach for a week at the end of the month, hope I can make it to a bigger RC shop. Not a lot of Futaba stuff on the shelf up in Montana.

Anyone else having servo movement with hs79xx hitecs, when using the FSSH RECIEVERS?
Switched from FAAST, and the hitec servos do not like it

I didn't have luck backing out that screw to stop the clicking so I ended up taking it apart and putting a small piece of lexan to shim the gap that the trigger assembly sits in.

I picked up one of these a week or so ago. I just jumped back into the eScale world and needed a radio. I bought this as a stop gap until the 4pv comes out but after using this little guy for a few days I like it a lot.

So far I haven't found anything I am "missing" other than maybe a timer for practice sessions but I can use my phone for that if needed. The non-back lit display may be a handicap when racing at night but I don't normally change setting that I would need to view while on the stand. Oh, I would like to be able to assign the brake EPA to switch 3. I don't typically need D/R but I have been known to want to adjust the brakes while driving.

At this point I am thinking I may pass on the 4pv. Time will tell. It seems like the street price will be about $300 with two receivers when it becomes available in the US.

Oh, so far the all plastic grip hasn't been an issue for me. Last race day was upper 80's and I had no issues. I do have tennis racket grip ready to go if needed though.

Hope this info is helpful to prospective buyers.

Chris

My son and I are regulars at DRPRC here in Pa, and we've been using the Turnigy GTX3 radios from Hobby King (which both have had the steering return spring break, which I fixed).
I bought the 3PV for him, and I'm waiting for the 4PV to be released in a week or so. I installed it in his B5M, no issues with binding, everything went smooth as silk. Last night at practice, he complained about "no brakes" over a particular feature on the track. I drove his B5M for a little and the brakes worked perfectly, so I thought. He changed to fresh tires, and tried again. He kept complaining about "no brakes, something isnt right."

I took his car and tried to do some "hot laps" with it. Here's the thing, the radio "lags" when going from full brake to neutral or even a little throttle. It also lags went going from WOT to brake. I'm not talking about much time here, probably less than a second, but you can feel it. For sure.

The feature I talk about is a small single kicker jump right before the entry to a corner, it's pointless to jump it. The fast line is to brake real hard coming into the face of the jump, and just as you crest the jump return to nuetral of even a little throttle and just roll the jump barely having your wheels leave the ground. This sets you up for the inside line of the corner. You can feel the "lag" here because it doesn't release the brakes as quickly as you'd like it to.

When changing back to the GTX3 and it just feels faster in response time without a doubt.

So my question is: it comes stock with the R203GF receiver which is S-FHSS would switching to the R304SB receiver and setting system type to TFH-HS level the playing field btwn the 3PV and the GTX3?

The R304SB let's you use the TFH-HS is the system type setting where the R203GF doesnt.

HI Chris,

I have the telemetry receiver and I have no issues with lag. I am not running HS right now because I just upgraded my 1/10 scale to a digital servo and honestly forgot about changing the setting (I'll go do that NOW!).

I have never run the other receiver with the 3pv though so I don't have any back to back input for you.

Hope this helps,

Chris

Questions?? Futaba Battery Charger

Does anyone know what futaba battery charger will work with the battery charging jack on the back of the radio. Will the 4px charger work?

If I remember correctly, Futaba's plug poles are reversed compared to other radios, so it should be the same, but don't quote me and blow your radio up.
