Waterproofing Electrics
I'm looking for what hints, tips and ways people are waterproofing their electrics, especially esc's for wet running.
I run 1/10 TC and have simply taped up my electrics before which worked fine. I've also tried putting the esc in a pot. Anyone have any more effective ways, products, techniques they swear by??

Google Plastidip. Amazing stuff!! You can also use cleaning gum in some areas.

In the past I used to prep my car for wet races with plastic bags, tape etc. Nowadays I'd only run a dedicated rain car (some cheap chassis, no tuning, no fancy bearings) and just use waterproof electronics in it, i.e. receivers (e.g. Sanwa Rx-471W) and ESCs (e.g. Hobbywing WP 120A 3.1). I don't currently have a dedicated rain car (yet), but planning to do one, just in case (since I'm never going to run my "good" cars in such weather again).

That's true I also have a rain car which is last seasons chassis with older electronics which is sealed with a combination of Plastidip and cleaning gum. I've tried the 471W but it isn't proper waterproof in my experience - I got water in mine and so use Plastidip instead.

No just painting it around the case sealing it shut. On the motor I block up all holes with cleaning gum.

In '90's used water balloon and 1 1/2 inch shrink wrap. Put RX into water balloon, wires out of a hole, wrap the wire with tie wrap, fit shrink wrap make a package of it, and heat shrink wrap. easy to remove and reinstall everything looks like new.
ESC I tend to not running in the wet. Tried this stuff 2 season ago, it gets messy. Cleaning gum sound good cuz it comes off easily without residue and temporary. To make it easier I don't run, there always another week.

Plastidip is so easy to get off after use. It just rubs off!! Really easy and not messy at all.
