Delayed throttle function help needed.

Background, new to me Tekin RX8gen2 esc. Motor is a Tekin T8i 1950kv. Radio is an Airtronics M12 with 471 RX. Also new to me. I should state I'm waiting on my motor sensor wire to arrive so it's not installed yet.
The issue is that after turning on the car and radio the throttle does nothing. I can see it operating on the transmitter display, and the leds on the esc light up in accordance with applying the throttle but the motor does not turn. Steering works immediately.
After it's been powered on for a few minutes the esc makes a ringing noise, sounds like an old telephone ring, and then the throttle works and the car will drive normally.
So I'm looking for input on what is causing the delay. I believe it's the esc but haven't a clue as to what setting would affect that.
Thoughts?

Thanks Socket for the quick reply. I believe you were correct with the settings that were in the ESC. I went ahead reset it to factory defaults and re-calibrated the transmitter and esc to each other. Problem solved for the moment. It still had the settings from the previous owner.
I'll say now that is been reset the cogging isn't too bad even without the sensor wire.

Make sure you've done our Binding correctly without the steering servo and ESC. Then follow Tekins Calibration procedure. Then check the throttle profiles on Tekin either blinky or Hotwire. It should run anyway w/o sensor cable, cable is used be timing & Turbo. Hotwire it should check on or off, sensored or sensorless
