Futaba 3VCS

I am looking to buy a Futaba 3VCS but adverts I have seen list 2 types
1. 3VC Super HR
2. 3VC Super PCM

Whats the difference and which is the best one

any help gratefully received

HRS version will have an HRS receiver. PCM version will have a PCM receiver.

HRS requires digital servos, preferably Futaba. PCM receiver will work with everything.

So it depends mostly on what servos you currently have/plan to get.

Not actualy true HRS will work with any servo, but to get the best of HRS use digital servo's (works great with Hitec HS5925)

sorry to say it's only good with digital servo's you can get by with analog but you run the risk of burning them out. The manual and first hand experience with HRS has shown me what can happen.

I would only use HRS for digital and go PCM for analog. They are essentially the same both have a fail safe it's just one is high response and the other is PCM 1024.

We have a 3VCS, and manual states as mandatory procedures,
Servo:6v type Digital servo only. Presumably if you use analogue and blow it up, you're on your own.
3VCS comes with R203HF HRS receiver, although you can use other receivers by changing mode. Normal version comes with R113iP Non HRS receiver. HRS system seems to suppress interference better as well.
Hope this helps.

I can tell you first hand that Analog servos won't work with the HRS
receiver it did not burn up the servo but it would not Center or it would
wonder. I tried two analogs and did the same thing, I finally put the digital
and all problems solved.

I'm using a 3VCS HRS set...i like it more than the PCM.It works great with digital servos and the receiver is really small in size too...i've ordered a few sets, sold almost all of it,now i've got the last set on Ebay ...Great transmitter..i've used many other stick Tx before and i like this the best....

Yup only use it with digital servos...it can be any brand..but it must be digital...

I plugged an analog servo into the HRS receiver that came with my 3VCS and it kept twitching. Definitly don't use HRS with anything but digital. I went Spektrum right off the bat; works great with no problems.

Spektrum is pretty good but sold mine off, used it with a brushless esc and motor set,the motor kept twitching...well maybe my Spektrum was a bit cranky..my buddy used it and it was fine so he offered to buy it off me.

Does anyone know 3pk am module suitable for 3vcs or not?

FrankW 04-13-2006 10:04 AM

It should work with no problems. The radio is basically the same, except the case.

Thank you for your help

Besides, Do you know where can I download the 3vcs manual?

FrankW 04-13-2006 10:34 AM

I have no clue. You might be able to find it on the Futaba Japan site (that's where I learned about the 3VCS). http://www.futaba.co.jp/
