No throttle and intermittent steering - need help
#1
I need some help diagnosing the problem. I have Vaterra TwinHammers with Tactic TX/RX combo. Yesterday all was working fine for about 5 minutes. Then the car stopped responding to TX. I have no throttle and steering is intermittent (very slow and jumpy). I am assuming that this is TX/RX issue, correct? I have tried new batteries in TX and fully charged Lipo in RC car. Nothing helped. Unfortunately, I only have one Tactic RX so I can't determine if this is TX or RX issue.
The specs are:
Tactic TTX300 TX + TR325 RX
Hobbywing Quicrun WP-1060 Brushed ESC 60A
Stock Dynamite motor
Hitec HS-645MG servo
Any ideas?

Start again from the beginning. Rebind you TX & RX with steering & ESC disconnected. Then reconnect Steering and ESC and redo calibration. and go from there.
Sometimes when you disconnect the battery W/O a switch, ESC looses its memory of calibration(neutral, full throttle and Braking). Its your option to run a on/off switch

you just need power from the battery cage that comes with the TX & RX when binding and possible jumper when needed. The manual tells you that. ESC different product show how to calibrate.

Thanks for all the replies. TX and RX are already bound. When I disconnect the third channel (two-speed transmission), everything is normal. When the transmission servo is plugged in, the light on the ESC flashes (steady means ok, flashing is not) and that's when I have all the problems. I did have an on/off switch on the ESC but because the cable was too short I took it off and jumped the cables. I did not calibrate the ESC though. I have downloaded the manual and will try to do it tomorrow.

Had the same issue last weekend, turned out to be the lipo I was using had a bad connection somehow. I tried a different lipo battery and the problem went away, the battery that had the issue at the time has been working fine since so I'm not sure what the problem with the battery was. Have you tried a different lipo?

It appears to be the transmission servo. Once disconnected, everything works fine. I have tried to connect the servo to another setup and had the same issue. Time to replace the servo or maybe convert the TH to a single speed racer.
