Default 1s brushless motor

I thought I saw somewhere online where someone was running a 1s short stack 17.5 motor in there 2wd buggy on a 2 cell battery, but I can not find it now. My question is can you run a 1s motor on a 2s battery and what makes a motor a 1s specific motor anyway?

I thought I remember reading that they said they were getting great power out of 1s 17.5 motor and they said it felt faster than there regular 17.5 motor.

Short answer yes you can. While designed for 1S they seem to work well with light 2wd buggies on many tracks.
