Default Modern Servo/Receiver Compatibilty

I'm running a futaba 4pls and until today I was using a futaba servo that broke the external gear where the servo saver attaches after a seemingly non-significant hit. I've never broken this part on a servo before and I'm thinking of going back to the airtronics servos i used to run many years ago. I never had issue with them. The question is: can a new airtronics servo work with my futaba receiver without issue. I remember years ago you had to do some re-wiring. Do companies make them cross compatible now?

Yes, as far as I know everybody uses Futaba wiring order now. Not sure when Airtronics switched, mid to late '90s I'm guessing. Ground/negative on the outside, not middle.
