I'm running a mbx7t with mt4/rx-461 and two green radiopost servos on 2s lipo in both rx and tx. Venom 1600mah for the rx and 2400mah in tx.

Noticed it first happening during one of my mains last weekend, then again tonight a couple times while practicing. Heading into a turn, and crap!!! no brakes, no steering, and straight off the track I go.

Just wondering if anyone has any ideas... It seems like it happens after a I brake... so maybe the throttle servo is causing the rx to brown out??? Is that a possibility?

It does sound like the receiver is suffering from a brown out. Try swapping the receiver if you have another.

In my experience it is unlikely that Sanwa would suffer from brown out. It's more likely to be the servos. Are they lipo certified? If these are 6v servos try a LIFE pack instead. I've had similar symptoms using non-sanwa non-HV servos on lipo. Changed to life and no more issues.

They are both the Radiopost 2207m so as far as I know they can handle unregulated 2s lipo. According to their listed specs anyway.

Voltage: 4.8V ~ 8.4V

I don't have a life pack, but I could try a 6v nimh next time and see if there is any difference.

Alright so I swapped the rx out for a brand new rx-371w and the same thing was happening this weekend.

Anything else I could be missing?

Could it be the transmitter itself? Another thing a buddy of mine mentioned was the switch could be causing issues. I still have the i/o toggle switch connected so do the switches ever cause these kinds of issues?

When it does cut out its for like 2-3 seconds then back to normal.

You said it yourself!! Cut out. You may have cut-off voltage to high. Check it out , simple!!!

I did check and the cutoff is set to 6 volts, and afaik there is no lvc for the rx.

You may want to check the switch in the car, especially if it's a mechanical one. It happened to me when I was racing nitro touring. There is lots of vibration generated by the engine and that wears the switch contacts. Add to that dirt and grime that can get in after a while... Anyway, worth checking.

I'm going to give that a try next. I have a servo extension wire that should work perfectly to run the battery straight to the rx.


edit: You were right! Stoked that I finally figured out what it was because I was almost ready to send it in to have it checked out. I wasn't sure it was the switch at first because it still worked... move it to off and it turned off and move it to on and it turned on... however I noticed any amount of slight pressure and it would cause it to cut out for a brief moment. Now if my car goes flying off the track the only person I have to blame is myself, lol.
