In order to help keep MMX temperatures under control, any problem with cutting out the X in the fan shroud and replacing it with window screen to allow more air flow?
There shouldn't be an issue with cutting the shroud. I don't know that the screen is required, I'd just run it naked if you wanted the most airflow. It is removable and you could pull it off and just hold the fan down in some other way in order to increase airflow. You could also connect the fan power plug to a RX wire and run it to the receiver in order to always power it. If you wanted to find a higher airflow replacement, the stock fan is a 30x30x7mm 5v 10,000 RPM fan. I've seen several 30x30x10mm higher RPM fans available from other RC manufactures. You could cut out the top of the shroud and then attach the taller fan to the top of the shroud to allow for the taller fan.

I use a larger fan and it’s always on, major difference in cooling.

Thanks, I'll start with cutting out the X. Will a 10 mm tall fan fit under the shroud?

Now that's a big fan!

It will not. 7mm is tight to the case and heatsink. To use a taller fan you would need to mount it like 0verkill did.

No room on my chassis to mount it above the cage, so I'll stick with 7 mm. Thanks.

When will Castle get inventory again? I go to their site and everything is not available or back ordered. Is this a concern or just a hold up in inventory?

Had a hiccup with motor supply, but everything running smoothly again. Will be a little while before everything is back in stock, but we are back at full production.

I ended up leaving the "X" in the fan shroud intact, but I cut away some pieces around it. Should definitely allow for more air flow.

If anyone is interested, I did manage to fit a 10 mm tall fan under the shroud. However I had to secure the shroud with twist ties. :-) Working fine though. Or if anyone is looking for a higher flow fan that fits properly under the shroud, the 6 mm tall Sunon MF30060V1-1000U-A99 is rated at 4.9 cfm compared to the factory fan that is rated at 3.34 cfm. I may eventually install that fan.

Robert, any consideration been given to adding a fan enable temperature feature to the firmware?

Seems the Mamba X is great for anything in typical 1/8 applications under 9lbs. (~30k rpms) For anything higher voltage/KV or heavier you probably want to go with the Monster.

I run 1/8 e-buggy so Mamba X should be good for that then? Thats good. I like that it's up to 6s and the size.

Totally should be. I've been running a Mamba X since last year.

I was told that 6s in an e-buggy would need a 1400kv motor or equivalent. Any recommendations on which motor? BTW I bought the Mamba X

Did anyone else experience the issue with running a Savox servo off the BEC to 7.5v in the MX?

I have the Castle cap wired in the +/- on the MX would a cap on the Rx or servo be of any benefit?

Also my MX is listing firmware 2.02 as current being the ‘production version’ and the one it’s running the 2.06 firmware is listed as ‘Beta’ does it need updating?
