Hi all.

New to the forum so wold like to say hello,

Im currently running a bl cage, and using 4s lipo the current esc on the car is a hobbywing 80a.which goes quite well.

Im thinking of getting a 6s lipo would i need to change the esc to a 150a to use with that kind of lipo

Any help would be appreciated

All the HW 80a ESC's I'm familiar with are rated to a max of 4s so yes, you would need a new ESC to run 6s.

If you're happy with your HobbyWing, there's no good reason to switch brands, especially if you already have the HW programmer.

What car/motor are you running? All motors have limits on how fast they can spin before they let go.

2370kv on a 6s setup? That's insane. Usually most run 1400-1550 on 6s. You want to keep the end value around 30k=volts x KV
Unless you are just bashing then I get the over powered beast
