Default tekin hotwire help!!!

I bought a brand new hotwire(gen2 version I guess) from my local hobby shop. I got home and it wouldn't find the esc. the box that says plug in esc pops up and the green light comes on in the white box but no lights in the esc. Tried another one and same thing. I tried other computers and laptops. Still nothing. Not sure why it won't read my esc. I've had other people plus theirs right in. Please help.

Make sure the mini usb is plugged into the hotwire fully. Its a tight fit and it almost feels as if you may damage it with the force thats needed to plug it in. I had the same problem.

I got it in all the way but I do understAnd what you mean though. Thanks for the suggestion The light on the hotwire lights up and it reads the hotwire itself when I unplug it it has another message. Once in awhile the gen2 rx8 I was trying it on would show an 1/4/7 error code. Not sure what that means. I'm getting pretty annoyed and have tried what seems like it all. Why can't I just buy something and it work

Take a look below, this was takEn from page 145 of the tekin rx8 gen2 thread.

If your RX8gen2 unit flashes leds 1,4,7 please send it in for repair.

When the unit temp is around 3 leds it will start flashing leds 1,4,7. This may happen a few times and reset or in some cases continue this loop until the unit is turned off and back on.

There is simply a misloaded component on the control board causing this condition.

We apologize to those few that have gotten these units. We caught the mistake pretty early, but some units did get out the door before we were aware of it.

Please make sure the unit is not actually flashing 1,3,5 indicating voltage cutoff. Again this error code will typically show up about 3 min into a run when the unit gets to about 3leds of temp.

Please fill out the service form on our website and include it with the unit. Clearly mark that it is a 1,4,7 error code and we will fix it up and get it back to you quickly.

Thank you for understanding. Things happen.... All we can do is react quickly and make it right so everyone can get back to Racin!

Thanks for your response but I should have been more clearer. This is happening when I'm trying to plug in the hotwire. The esc wasn't on or running. Just while trying to program But I was just making sure I had the plug in all the way and right and maybe once outta five times of re plugging it in to the hotwire it would show that code. It could have been 1/3/7 like you stated but I couldn't get it to do it everytime not sure if that helps figure out the problem. the esc was bought from a friend but I know it works and he had the his hotwire on it. Plus i can't get to read my gen2 rs either that I bought first hand. I even tried using the esc plug instead of the fan port.

I just want to say this. I love tekin it's the only product I will put in my cars. I'm just annoyed with the fact I'm having trouble which is either something I'm overlooking or just a bad luck. You guys make the best stuff and have the best support even for the average joe! I knew coming on here and you guys would do your best to help that's why I love tekin. Im just hoping it's something simple.
