Buddy was using this nano-tech this past weekend and forgot to pull the balance plug before putting in his truck. Needless to say, it's broken off in the barrel.

What's the easiest way to crack this nano-tech to get at the plug? I just need to fish the remaining bit out and then solder on a new bullet to the charging cable.

I'd like to keep this battery if at all possible. I can't load a picture for some reason, but you can imagine its a smaller bullet that goes in between the power wires to balance the 2s battery out. At least half of the bullet is still in the receptacle.

You can try digging it out with a pick or sharp exacto blade. You can try a drop of sure glue on a paperclip and see if it will stick to the broken piece ( carefull not top put a coating of glue over it). If you want to split the cases, drag a knife around the edges to cut any stickers or seal. then gently pry each half moving around so you don't crack the case.

I'll give that a go. I tried superglue yesterday, figured that may work, but didn't have much luck. Now that I think about it, I wonder if I would have much luck even if the cases were split?

Geezuz, get "buddy" to buy another 2S Nano-tech for you.....$30-$40 is not alot of money in this hobby and hardly worth the risk of possible injury.

+1 Yosh70. It's a very dangerous game splitting lipos open. If I couldn't get that pin out using methods from outside the case then I'd just replace the lipo. Nanotechs are cheap anyway. However if you do persist in opening the case then do yourself a favour and do it outside with a bucket of sand nearby!

Even if you get it open successfully the bottom of the balance lead will have solder over it. Honestly with some patience and a dental pick you should be able to get it out.

Thanks for the tips and warnings. I've got it all done. Once the case was split, I desoldered the balance barrel, took a drill bit and backed out the old, broken bullet. Soldered the barrel back on, glued the case and put some tape around the edge. Simple.

I have a hard time getting rid of something that I know is good and should be easy to fix.

as for it being so dangerous to open a hardcase I disagree with that .. its actually a easy safe job as long as you use the right tools nonmetallic. like wood. or plastic like a phone case splitting tool. and one can use 3m double sided tape the stuff they use on window shrink film. I have done this many many times..
