I have a flammable trash can in the basement.
I keep my Lipo's in that inside its own firebag.

I don't use that flammable trash can these days since I have another one in the garage for my real cars.

old thread but some valuable info here... I also wanted to share a recent experience.

I have been storing my lipos in lipo sacks in my garage for the past 10 years. This past week it got up to 105f outside, probably around 110f+ in my garage, ...i went to open my lipo sacks today, all, ALL of my batteries are puffed to the point where the casing is totally split open. I had about 8 lipo batteries, ...sucks!

I have a beer fridge in the garage, I put a temp gauge inside and have adjusted it to stay at a constant 50f ...so from here on out all my lipos will go in a lipo sack in the beer fridge. I figure the constant temp (through winter/summer) plus never being exposed to 110+ degree temps ought to be good for them.

Throw the beer out!

Store in fridge if you're not going to be running them for a while and use ziplocks on them - not for the humidity in (or rather not in) the fridge but the condensation that will gather on the packs when they're taken out of the fridge. Make sure they're room temp before you take them out of the fridge and charge them etc (about half a day).
