It's been a good while since i've seen someone using a novak esc around where i live. The motors i still see used once in a while. I have tried their ballistic motors before and wasn't happy at all. It just never had the power my Tekin had.
|
I like there stuff, switched to novak after lrp issues with customer support. I had a question about novak, emailed them and within 2 hrs had 3 replies with all questions answered. Im stickin with them.

I will give Novak some props for bringing brushless motors to the masses.

I think Novak's gear is great and that's way I have 7 ESC and 14 of their motors. Never had any issues. Well over a couple of grands worth of Novak products. I just simply wanted to know if they are pulling the pin in 2016? With the new 1/8 scale motor and ESC recently released Id say no. Somebody send me and email address which they will reply to and I'll ask Bob. I'm not sure why somebody would make a statement "things must be slow to ask the question" because its pretty simple question which I wouldn't ask if it didn't come from a very good source.

Well il tell you this i still run my Original GTB brushless/brushed esc on my 2wd ran it many times even without a fan with higher turn motors 0 issues with them never blown one up . Now yes the programming thing is a bit of a pain with the colors but i just do basic tuning on it .
You overdo it on any esc pushing it over its limit any esc will blow on you. |
They were my first brushless motor and esc combo. It was cheaper then the rest especially for a sensored combo. It still works awesome. I also like that they have a trade in program where you trade in your motor or esc for something different at a discounted price. I would always consider them first when looking for something in the 1/10 scale realm. Castle is a similar price but none of their stuff is sensored. And tekin is really good stuff too but also really expensive too. For my money and bang for your buck, novak is where it's at.

bob novak, charlie, one of the other employees who enjoys their job? sorry couldnt resist that one |
it's a trend I notice in this industry...monkey see monkey do. if novak isn't sponsoring that means about 85% of guys aren't buying their products.
even though they probably used to exclusively but since they don't see it on everyone's shirt it isn't on their list of must have's. I've made up my mind on this subject. all of my next motors and esc will be novak. my only reason...made in the USA. I was just in the market a few weeks ago for a esc for my 8th scale. but their new line wasn't available and I didn't know they were on their way to market or I would of waited. when I get a 10th scale again it will be novak. |

Mamba max pro is a sensor based esc but their motors are not. So if you want to run a sensored esc/motor by the same mfr then castle won't work.

Made in the US is the best reason to buy only Novak , however after a couple of bad experiences with crap esc ' s some new out of the box and some a week or two after purchased and stupid responses from them ...after getting in touch with their ""service" department made me decide never to buy Novak again. Their motors are still great and I use them but I refuse to pay for the paperweight they call an ESC . During the brushed era I used nothing but Novak and was always getting good support from them when I had issues. Sorry Novak but rc racers are loyal customers for life , give them a good product, stand behind your product and don't have what sounds like a 17 year old girl telling people "sorry we can't help you" when they call your customer service dept. I'm not bashing Novak , to some people the truth hurts and if the truth hurts it's not always the customers fault.

I can show you many pictures of burned up tekins(caught on fire). but people still insist they're so great. my viper vtx8 lasted 1 year of light use.

I bought a HW too. I gotta admit, so far I like it a lot. everything runs cooler but has better power delivery than the vtx8 did.
it's 1/2 the price and twice the esc... |
