Default ESC programming

Hi electric experts. I'm completely new in the electric panorama. I've been racing nitro for 6 years but I decided to to get my son a electric 1:8 buggy. I've assembled a Intech BR6 E buggy with this ESC http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...grammable.html
and a 2650Kv motor, also from trackstar (can't recall the model). Anyway its been impossible to get the programming box so I've got the Sky link to program it on the PC. The problem is I can't get a good program. The car always have way to much power. I know the basic settings like brakes but the software has 1st and 2nd stage punch rate. Already put this 2 in the minimum but the car still has way too much power. Help please!!!!

Default ESC power

I'm not familiar with your particular buggy and ESC but you could always check your transmitter to see if it has a way to limit the throttle output. If that doesn't work you can install a smaller pinion or a larger spur gear or a combination of both. Hope that helps.

The motor is going to be too much. You can try using expo if the radio has the capability.
Did you try going the other way with the punch?
Here is a post that explains the punch rate: http://www.rctech.net/forum/13618986-post132.html
Here is the thread on the ESC: http://www.rctech.net/forum/radio-el...ogram-box.html
I would suggest a motor with 1900-2200 kv
Also the rogramming box is in stock right now: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...ogram_Box.html

a 2650 motor is pretty fast. most of the guys including me stick to 1900 and 2000kv.

also you can try turning the epa adjustments on the radio down if it has any. with my 2kv motor I can leave it on 85% and it's still plenty fast enough to keep up with everyone.
