dx4c i think last gen to mt4

I am a "Spektrum" guy..but I did have an MX4..I didn't care much for it..the manual for the MX4 is huge....right now I'm using the DX4R..I like it.. lots of adjustability as far as throttle and steering tension goes..I had bought a DX3R in 04 and retired it in july of 2014..

Look in on road racing, where fast and reliable radios are a must, mostly Airtronics/Sanwa, some Futaba/KO. You almost never see Spektrum.
There might be a reason for that? |
are the radios built faster?...relay back faster?
|
Each new generation of radio gear seems to yield faster, more responsive product lines from all manufacturers... Honestly, I don't think we as consumers would accept anything less.
I've had the opportunity to use many different transmitters over the years; my personal choice has been the M11x, replacing the M11 I used for 5 years prior to that. Having used many different Futaba, Spektrum, and KO transmitters over the years, the level to which you feel "connected" to the model differs between radio systems; my preference favoring Airtronics. Whether or not that's related to system speed and response will always be a point of debate, however, I did notice an IMMEDIATE improvement in laptimes when updating my M11 to an M11x, as there was a definite improvement in response time and accuracy. |
I came from Futaba to Spektrum. I really didnt notice much difference other than my wallet felt a lot heavier when I was done buying RX for all my cars vs futaba.

There might be a reason for that?[/QUOTit's E] That's a BS statement..so your trying to say that the responce time of a Spektrum is slower than that of other radios..look up the specs..all high end radios are the same..at the local on road track its about 75% spektrum radios..I ran a Spektrum DX3R for 10 years and never had any problems.. If you wanna be a fan boy just say you like bla bla radio dont come up with some bs story that Spektrums are slow.. |

on the higher end of radios i think the previous poster is right speeds are probably comparable I recently went to an MT4 and i love it did my lap times improve no i would say no but the comfort level of the radio and the way it feels is much better for me and i feel lets say not faster but more consistent with it and that may be just the ergonomics of it

I hear a lot of guys talk about buying a spektrum so they can buy the orange rx receivers. what sense does it really make to buy a $10 receiver that probably doesn't work anywhere near the response times as a spektrum unit can.
might as well just buy a cheap radio also. it's not doing you a bit of good. |

You just don't see spectrums regularly outside the U.S. I'm lucky to have attended international euros and worlds events around the world both on road and off-road. Certainly in on road there are very few. I think at the worlds in thailand (200mm) I saw one DX4 radio out of 100 competitors. That DOES say something...
Yes I am a Sanwa/Airtronics fan boy and for very good reason. The kit is first rate. I pay for all my kit as do most and I wouldn't be wasting my money on something I didn't feel and believe was superior in many aspects. The difference for me between Futaba and Sanwa is just the feel against other brands its a different story. I've been bashed a few times by spectrum fan boys but I don't care - truth hurts sometimes! Radio is just something you don't economise on IMHO. |
