Default 2 ?'s for ko propo users

1st question. Binding issues

I have a ex-1 UR radio that I got new since they first came out (2007 ?) and it has never let me down. I am using the ko 2.4 module and ko 2.4 receivers too

As of lately when the local track(indoor) has a larger turnout, my radio won't bind quick or I have to go outside to get it to bind with my receivers. Low turnout or alone at home it will bind just fine. Any info on this problem out there?

2nd question. What are the differences in the ex-1 KIY versions. Interested in upgrading to this radio but have never followed this radio very much

See some ver.1 forsale here and also ver.3 too, just don't know what the
differences are

Thanks for any replies

Personally I would not bother with any version of this radio if you are using it for offroad.

But here is the version info you asked for

V1 is the initial release of the radio

V2 is a main unit update that was supposed to make the radio have a more linear throttle feel

V3 is a V2 main unit and a new V3 Grip.

In order to go from V1 to V3 you need to send in your V1 Main unit and if you send it to the US office it needs to be a US serial number, if its a Japan Serial you will need to send it to Japan, then, IF KO has updates in stock KO will update you for a fee. Add $100 ish for a the V3 grip the grip has an adjusted trigger and and different contour on the grip.

Forgive me for asking But, what is wrong with KIY when you use it for offroad?

Plenty of the real pros use the KIY for offroad. Nothing wrong with it. There are many parts to this radio and you have to be meticulously clean about keeping the radio dust and dirt free is all.

There are open contacts in this radio (if you decide you need to take apart at the track), that are prone to getting dirty/gritty in a dusty offroad environment. Just keep it clean and get it serviced by KO every year.

It IS the best and most direct feeling radio I've ever used, IMO. I'm still on the V1 master unit and switched over to the latest expert grip.

I had the same issue with my helios with the 901 module.

Your issue is that someone has a 1st gen/early futaba 4pk.

If you only race one car, you can leave the radio on and it won't loose it's bind.

I think KO had an update for the module, but even after mine was updated it still had issues.

I sold my KO stuff and bought the 4pk from the guy that was causing me issues
