Thought i would share a bit of info i found. Someone mentioned it in a thread but it really deserves its own.

Apparently counterfeit clones of the fx888d are being sold all over the net. The biggest give away you have one that someone on youtube pointed out is it doesnt say hakko on the top. They could of changed this by now. And youre not going to tell from pictures the seller has.

Hakko is aware of the problem and suggest only purchasing from authorized dealers.

Aliexpress has been mentioned numerous times of a place to avoid.

Hardly surprising, the earlier 836 model is one of the most copied products I've ever seen. Some suggest the copies are identical, but some sites with side by side pictures suggest otherwise. Caveat emptor.
