Default HITEC 'X1 Touch' question

After upgrading to a new charger and power supply combo set-up I sold my X1 to a local....in perfectly good working condition, it's didn't have a mark on it. Well, I get a call a day or so later saying the screen didn't light up. He said it beeped to indicate power was making it to the unit, but a dark screen.

The Questions:

What is the most common failure and cause for a problem like this? Could he have fried a circuit trying to charge a battery incorrectly to make this happen?

I did catch a slight whiff of burnt electronics, so something seems to have gone south.

I took the charger back so now I'm considering having it fixed or selling it, just not sure if it's worth fixing.

Thank in advance.

man I hope you didn't take it back like a sucker. probably hooked it up to a computer power supply he tried to make himself and poof.

I hope you know this guy really well to trust he's not scamming you.

just like the guy who bought my buggy. crashed it and came over to me in the pits and asked if I could pay for the parts. no kidding..

Don't know how Hitec's warranty is with chargers. But with servos they fixed all of mine no questions asked. Send it back to them and have them check it out.
