If the Gen2 RS is 120 amps, then that is more than plenty to power a 6.5 motor. It must be the lack of a fan, so I am wondering if anyone has added one, and did they use the switch wires to run it?

The esc doesn't have a heat sink to be cooled by a fan and so adding one probably wouldn't make much difference. Besides I didn't think the gen 2 is 120a more like 90a. I certainly can't find anything written down by Tekin which confirms this...

It can handle 6.5s just fine in something light like a 1/12th. Something heavier like an offroad car or even a TC is really pushing it.

I wish someone would make an aftermarket heat sink for these and a fan kit. I heard they are 120 amps, so they only need the heat sink and fan.

if you need more from the tekin line, they do have the rsx. Essentially just a beefed up rs with a fan.

the thing with the rs, is that it is small. add an internal/external heat sink and a fan and it will really loose that good feature.

I love the fact my Rs gen 2 fits under the battery strap in my rear motor Serpent Spyder buggy. At a glance you can't even see it! Runs 7.5t in that and never has thermaled.

I'm not happy that both cases of my RS Gen2's are cracking like crazy for some reason. They are sill holding together, just cracked like a renaissance oil painting.

Strange... Both of mine are still perfect with hundreds of runs on them in 2wd buggy. Do you clean them/the car with any solvent based products that could make the plastic brittle? Just I've been there and done it myself...

Brake clean will do that in a heartbeat. Don't let even the tiniest bit of overspray get on it. I know, I've done it. Fortunately replacement cases are available and easy to change.

Thanks guys. I haven't sprayed them directly. However I do use a electronic cleaner for the tires after racing. I always spray into a blue towel and then apply to the tires. I wouldn't think I spray around the ESC as most times it's away from the bench and chassis.

Yes, its a good thing replacement cases are available as I have already replaces one because of this cracking... Now it looks like I'll be doing it again soon

Mine are cracked as well. I need to take it apart and figure out how to make a heat sink and fan fit. i have a broke Track Star esc(imagine that) heat sink and fan I could modify.
