Thumbs down sick of LRP!

I didn't talk to them yet but lost my 3rd lrp flow works team yesterday. All 3 , first i lose all dragbrake, then they cook the motor. I m running stock buggy 17.5 blinky with a reedy, tekin, and trinity. All 3 motors are burnt along with the esc's. Never again will I spend a dime on lrp. I dont care if their customer service rep drives to my house and gives me a new one with a handy! I refuse to put one in my car ever again. A good friend at the track said "LRP= Low reliability products!" I will now welcome myself to the world of hobbywing. Thank you for listening to me vent.

I know that I tried running a 13.5t LRP X20 with a hobbywing esc and it didn't work at all :/. Didn't fry anything but certainly not compatible. I learned my lesson and promise myself to never run a different motor brand from the esc brand. Unfortunaly LRP is exepensive and you're not the first one saying that reliability is not premium with them .
So I never made the jump to the brand.

Not saying you are wrong, just saying that there are other people who run Lrp with no problems at all. There could be more going on than they are just unreliable. Don't take it as its your fault.

never had issues with mine, with that said, I do beleive HW is a better speed control. I did however have all kinds of problems with Reedy motors. They would seize for no reason. No such problems with LRP motors. And they were noticeably faster.

Oh i agree panda one of my friends runs the same esc in 2 and 4 wheel buggies for a year no issues. Im running blinky 17.5. Could it be because im not running the lrp motors?

I wouldnt think an esc would go bad because you used another brand motor. But if they want you to buy their motors and this is how they are trying to tell you maybe you should

I have an x12 8.5 motor, very low use, rotor granaded, I contact them, 3 weeks later I got a reply, and instead of saying there's nothing they can do, they say if I send it in the can replace it for 1/2 the msrp on a new one, so $75 plus shipping both ways, waste of my time

Classic!

What would life be like without LRP blue? Colorless and bland. Don't do it!

Well especially if they just replace the rotor which is worth around 35$ new... not a good deal at all.

Don't laugh. I run all Trackstar electronics. The 120amp Turbo ESC cost's about $50. I got one and the fan on it didn't work. I emailed support and in 3 days I had another, BRAND NEW ESC shipped express from China..... AT NO CHARGE.

Say what you will about Trackstar stuff but, I win races with it and their customer support is the best I've experienced.

I have had many, many LRP products throughout my 20 or so years in the hobby and I have exactly the opposite opinion of you. Can't recall one time ever having LRP product fail other than maybe a motor bearing which will wear out on anything. Sorry you have had bad luck but I don't think they make a bad product at all. Have had much worse luck with pretty much everything else I've tried.

I have 2 flows, both are about 2 years old. I have run them in 17.5 TC, 17.5 buggy, mod buggy, and wheeler. I have ran Trinity and Reedy motors. I have never had a issue with either one of them.

I sent my LRP in they sent one back "fixed".. Worked for a week, then the same thing happened.. They wanted the same thing 50% off MSRP.. So in other words full price for a replacement.

There is no compatibility issue. Something else was wrong.

There are worse products, Castle Cremations for example?
