Default Slash Battery Options

I am new to this and trying to get a Traxxas Slash Raptor set up to run at our local track. I was told I need to swap out the factory battery for a hard case lipo. Looking for commentary/feedback on what to look for and how to start racing. Additionally, I have been looking at a venom 10 amp dual charger but I am not sure if that is an appropriate starting place. Finally I am new to using forums, and I am sure this question has been asked and answered, but I did not find any useful posts when I searched.

If you have a local hobby shop the best thing would be to stop by there and see what hard case batteries they have in stock. The hard case helps with the abuse from the jumps. They can get expensive depending on brand and size and discharge rate. Personally started out cheap by ordering some batteries from hobby king.
