Default Best radio for $125?

I was just wondering what everyone thinks the best radio setup you can get for $125... I have seen lots of recommendations for different ones but it doesn't seem like there is a clear winner in the $125 price range from the posts I have been reading. Lots of the recommended ones are $250+ which is too much for someone who is trying for near entry level or a step above.

Used Airtronics/Sanwa MT4. You may need to spend a little bit more but you really don't be sorry. Best budget radio out there by far.

Most of those that I have seen go for around $200 on ebay. I don't think I could afford that. I would snag one pretty quick if I could find it anywhere around $125

GT3B if your looking for entry radio. multiple rx are cheap.

i also would recommend you looking at the 4pls, mt4, m12, etc. Yes they are higher than than the 125 but you can get a cheaper model and when you up grade the trans latter you can keep the rx and have another spare.

I have a cheaper one right now... HPI TF-40. Want to get something that's decently better than that one. I think I only paid about $40 for the HPI. It doesn't make sense that there wouldn't be anything good in the middle between $40 and $200.

the gt3b has model memory so you can use multiple cars. backlight screen, 3 channels. but i get what your saying.

you have the mx-v for airtronics(i have one), 3pl for futaba, and the dx4c with spare rx from spectrum. again i would go with the kind you think you might stay with later brand wise.

You can check Radiolink RC3S. Has more functions than Sanwa for somthing around 50 USD. Receivers are up to 15 USD. I used one for 6 month without a single glitch.

You can find it for example at asiatees.com or banggood.com

We have bought 2 of the airtronics M11x ones. Both around $150 with the metal case shipped to me.
So far very happy with them and learning a little more about what they can do each time we use them.

Airtronics/Sanwa MX-V

Probably the best bang for the buck on the market right now.

You really need to consider spending more than the 125. If you need to wait a month or two to save the extra 75 bucks then my advice is to do it and go for the MT4 or M11x dependant on what you can find. Those two will beat anything else you are likely to find at that price in terms of performance, comfort and longevity in use over the coming years. You'll see tons of them at the race track.

It's not really an issue of saving money its an issue of that I just can't stomach spending much more than $125 on a radio. It just doesn't seem like a smart purchase. You have gotta draw the line somewhere and my line is usually right around $100 bucks.... I got my car for $100 got my ESC and Motor for $100, Got my charger and batteries for $125.... See where I am going here?

a brand new DX3C or a used DX3S or DX3R, Spektrum receivers are cheap and those radios all have a lot of model memories. I have never had any problems with reception, glitching or any other issues with the multitude of Spektrum radios I have owned (my DX3S broke a steering spring, installed an Airtronics one and its all good now)

I'm a little leery of Spektrum receivers because I have Savox servos and I have heard that they have compatibility issues because the Spektrum receivers can't handle the power draw of the Savox servos.
