Default 4PKSR problem

I was starting a race last week at a race, I turn the car on and check throttle a steering like I always do. Well when I go full throttle the steering would turn to the right, and full brake it would turn left. I first thought it was a connection issue so I went through all that and could not find anything. My first thought was the receiver was damaged, so I missed the main in nitro. Went to start the main in electric not thinking to try anything. At the start as soon as i hammered down on the throttle the car went full right. So I then turned my attention to the transmitter. Pulled up the servo view and seen where it was actually a problem in the transmitter. Has anyone else had this issue? What was the fix, or did you have to send it for service? Thanks.

Great, That fixed. Why would it all of a sudden change? I had been running all day long. Thank you so much, just saved me a lot of time and money.

Your Welcome

If you had a button assigned to it you may have activated it or someone was playing with your radio when you were not looking.

Weird, I never have messed wit that function, and the radio stays locked in the case when i am not using it. Oh well, it is fixed now that is all that matters.

So while searching for a topic on my problem I came across this thread. You seen to be knowledgeable on the Futaba radio so here goes....
I have a 4PKS with the 4 channel receivers. Occasionally I have an issue with my Tekin speed controls not recognizing the end points. I have an RX8 Gen 2 in my SCTE and a Tekin RS Gen 2 in my stadium truck.
I have had the problem in both vehicles. I turn on the radio, turn on the vehicle and all the ESC does is blink multiple lights but not go through the proper arming sequence. At that time I have to reset the end points on the esc along with the neutral location. It's not a problem every time. If it was just one ESC I would look there first but since it is two totally different ones I'm leaning towards the radio.

Any suggestions?

What receivers are you using? If you are flipping back and forth from the older 603 and the newer 614s it won't bind correctly.

Maybe you forgot to change the "model" in the TX when this happens?

As a test on the bench, try this scenario (intentionally set TX to different model) to see if the symptom is similar to what you described above.

Both receivers are the 614 ones. Model has always been correct as well as the type.

OK - Have you had a chance to test what I suggested above?

On the bench, intentionally set TX to different model memory to see if the symptom is similar to what you described.

When you set the TX to a different model memory, commit the change, power off, then power the TX back on. Then power on the RX/ESC of the non matching car. I suspect the audible power up sequence of the ESC will not be normal and just flash LEDs. Now, power the car off, change the model to the correct model memory and power cycle the TX followed by turning on the RX/ESC in the corresponding car.

If this test appears similar to what you experienced in the field, it is likely you changed the model memory and didn't power cycle the TX (or did it too quickly and the TX didn't really power off then on) before applying power to the RX/ESC in the car.
