I have a 4pls and I love it, so easy to navigate but the both have pretty much the same feathers, the only thing that can decide which one to get would be what feels best to you. The mt4 is nice I would have gotten one if the first version came with a backlight.

Both of them are good in their own right.

Of those two, probably Futaba but the mt4S beats them both.

The standard mt4 is fine you don't need the back light unless you are doing night driving but it still doesn't matter and yes the new mt4s is faster but I cant tell difference between the two. The Mt4 has more bells and whistles than you will ever need. I don't know anything about Futaba except the last one I owned failed before I even tried to use it. MJ

Had both, MT4 has a stronger feel and menu is a bit easier to use, 4pl/4pls looks and feels cheap, was built to a price point. Still the only radio in 9 yrs I've used and truely HATED!

Have one in our club who just replaced his M12 with a new Ko Propo. It felt better to him.

I love my M12, but in terms of quality feel, the Ko Propo feels better in your hands.

what do you mean by better? it all depends on what you're looking for

a 1st thing would be to see if it fits your hand well, ergonomics are very important

today, I'd choose a MT4S..

These two models use basically the same radio technology. S-FHSS. Range and response time are about the same. Go for the one that feels better in your hand. I will say I favor the Futaba because of the 204GF-E receiver. It's a micro receiver with the antenna contained in the receiver case. There's no wire tail coming out of it. Range is awesome on it, and it's nice and clean to mount - and often under $40 a piece. If you're going to run multiple models where receiver price is a concerns, or run something with tight mounting space like a 1/12 pan car or a Losi 22, go with the Futaba and grab that micro receiver.

If you're looking for higher performing technology, interference resistance, and a bit more range, you'd be looking at something in Futaba's FASST models.

+1 to these considerations

Too bad that Sanwa TX could not be bound with Futaba RX, and vice versa.
