Savox Motors, are they worth a damn?
So considering the current special on Savox motors (send in your junk motor for $40 off) I was thinking about getting one... Or three.
But are their worth their weight in salt?
I know they aren't ROAR approved, so I will keep them for racing at my local track where they don't care about you run.

Correction....
Savox SX-1 motors ARE roar approved. They are listed under Importer HRP. I was expecting Savox.
Fred, I will be using them in an Associated SC10 and B5R
Also, what is better when comparing motor specs? Higher current or lower current ratings?
The Speed Passion V3.0 13.5 motor is rated at 19 amps and the 17.5 motor is rated at 16 amps.
Meanwhile, the Savox 13.5 motor is rated at 33 amps and the 17.5 motor is rated at 25 amps.

You are in promotion the SAVOX ?

No. I am not associated with any manufacturer, retailer, or distributor.
I am a beginner who does not know what one motor has to offer over another.
Check my post history. You will never find me having mentioned anything Savox.
Besides, if I were associated with them, don't you think I would be promoting their claimed positives and not leaving an open door to bring to light any possible negatives?

I only used savox servos, motors'd never used, I do not know what it's powerful motor

I know Savox makes great servos but I've never tried any of their motors. As far as amperage, you'll just need to make sure you're ESC max amps is more amps than the motor. a 13.5T will be faster than a 17.5T. Just like a 10.5T will be faster than a 13.5T.

But I used Tenshock motor.I think it is great~

Savox motors imo are really good motors. They do seem to run a bit on the warm side however, but they also can be geared lower and get the same speed as a for example novak or hobby wing that is geared higher. The only issues that I've had at all is some low-end cog on one of my motors (I own 5, 17.5 and 13.5). For the money they work well and they have good support if you happen to have issues.

Have you had any sensor/timing boards fail?
When I was at the Gun Smoke classic at IERC, after a practice round my ESC failed to turn on. Well, let me elaborate...
It would turn on for as long as I held down the power button. If I disconnected the sensor wire, it would turn on and stay on with mo problem. So I swapped sensor wires and it persisted. So I swapped the plastic end cap with the timing/sensor board and the problem went away and I went on to finish my day.
I have sent an email to customer support (with no response yet) to find out what I need to do.
But in the mean time, is this a fluke, or an ongoing issue?
