lol, I have a couple puffed packs. I even measured the puff. 4mm of swelling. They balance and have pretty good IR, but alas they are a pain to mount in the B5. And puffed packs make my OCD kick in. So the question i: Use for practice, sell cheap, give away, throw away or keep using till they pop? How did they puff? Well, I loaded my car and went back inside for the awards ceremony (20 mins), then went home. Since the van has AC, I assume they puffed during that 20 minute span I was watching the awards go out. What can I say? Arizona heat.

Packs seem to puff for different reasons. The easiest way to puff a pack is to heat it up, I have had packs that puff like those and still work well, I agree they are a pain to mount. The only packs that I haven't had any issue with puffing until they go are thunderpower every other pack, no matter how expensive, seem to sometimes puff. I would run it, you will prob never feel the difference.

A good pack will still puff a bit long before it really dies.

I had one of those packs with diamond shaped cases and it was puffed a good 4mm each side. Proceeded to use it for a year, maybe twice a month or more and then it just lost power and disposed it.

yeah, its an IP lipo. 4800 mah. same as the protek and some other brands.

Just use them a couple more times, mine went punchless then I decided it was enough.

yeah, I monitor the IR. They are still punchy. Someone contacted me about a trick to try, so I am seeing how well it works.

Was it to poke a pin hole in them (non metal)and then tape over it after the swelling/ gas let out? I have a set of IP 7200Mah packs that have good Ir, but are swollen pretty good they still perform great, but the swelling scares me. let me know how you trick works out please.

I didn't say I would be trying it , but did recently read that someone had claimed it worked (I'm not advocating it actually works though).

yea I read the same thread, still aint worth it. A little puffing is practically normal. Keep an eye on it and be careful.
