Battery or Charger problem?

I have a couple older Losi cars and 4 Dyan Fun 1500 maH 6 cell NiCD batteries and a Dynamite Twin Peak NiCD/NiMH charger. The batteries were only lasting about 5 minutes so last year I got 2 Racer's Edge 5000 maH 7.2V NiMH batteries. These were lasing about 15-20 minutes and all was good.
The cars and batteries sat unused for about 9 months until I used them last weekend. I used the 5000 maH batteries and they only lasted about 5 minutes. I just tried them again and they only lasted 5 minutes again.
Anyone have any ideas on how I would get back to getting 15-20 minutes out of these batteries? They've only been charged about 10 times since new. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

that is normal for That battery charger setup.. you can not see or adjust the charge rate or PEAK..see if some one you know has a charger that you can adjust charge rate and PEAK voltage.. also try a 1 amp charge..yes it will take long but you will get batterys life back..A lower charge rate will also help not sure that charger will do that

For that charger I would use 4 amps. The peak feature is not working so well apparently. Charge them until they start to feel warm. Thats when the extra electricity that can't go to the battery starts making heat. If you charge/run/charge/run etc you can do some damage so the less heat overall the better.
