JR Servo service?
#1
Long story short, bought 1/8th buggy with JR 9100 servos in it and have no proof of purchase. One of them is now unresponsive and the other is so twitchy it is undrivable. I run a Spektrum DX3S and have tried many different recievers and packs. Then replaced them with a Losi RTR (cheap but does the trick, all I had too) for the throttle and a HiTech 7955 for steering and works fine. Just curious what my options are on JR service? Any and all input is very much appreciated.

Basicly, ask you LHS if they can send them in.
If the twitchy one is a 9100S, more than likely the top case is worn or broke on the inside. You can replace it and it will be good as new. If you can find them, get the 9100HVS upper case. Its all aluminum and doesnt wear out like the plastic ones.

I have had my LHS send them in. 2-3 weeks later I have a brand new one, no questions asked.

Sent it out and got an email with a link to check status. I sent it in a little later than I thought I would but everything on their part has been quick. Waiting now to see if and what they charge me. Will keep updated as info comes in.

Guy from service just called and the parts and labor total would not be cost effective. Super good guy and tried all he could to help me out. He is sending it back on their dime because that is policy. He did help me out alot with some other really good info. If they still sold that servo or had one on hand he would have sold me the new one at the repair cost or a significant discout anyways. So bummer it could not be fixed, but always like to mention something posative since they are so few and far between lately.
