Default Drop Down

Sorry, I'm using the drop down. I highly recommend the drop down and the angle adapter. Both are available from HiTec for an extremely reasonable price.

Hello

I understand the Lynx 4S is okay to use a LiFe 2S 6.6v transmitter battery. The original 4 cell NMH AA pack is starting to play up. When i plug in LiFe battery the radio won't power on, am i missing something?

Default Battery Settings

You could try powering up with the NiCd battery, then changing the battery settings to LiFe. Power down and then try powering up with the LiFe battery. That's the only think I can think of (assuming you confirmed the LiFe battery is charged).

Thanks, battery definitely was charged. Changing settings with original battery made no change unfortunately. I tried another LiFe battery i had and it worked. So must be something iffy about that other battery.

Is the Lynx 4s discontinued? It is not for sale on Amain or Horizon any longer.

It's been discontinued a long time. Hitec isn't going to make radio ever again.

Has anyone found a Way to do a DR override button on this radio? I run a lot of dr on my drag car and when I turn around I’d like to just be able to push a button

I just bought a used one with extra receivers because I couldn't buy new receivers and I love my Lynx 4S.

yup, it's a great system... only problems I've seen with racers in my area are 2 Lynx systems interfering with each other, we isolated the problem to two unique drivers running the Lynx 4S... one driver replaced his with new system and problem went away. Other issue is that the potentiometers tend to go out after 5 years of use, there was no easy way to replace them making the radio disposable at that point. Rx's tend to fail over time with too many hard chassis slaps and not sure if there are any aftermarket brands making compatible Rx's for HiTec.

I'm still bummed they aren't made any more. Mine is six years old and has started draining the transmitter battery really quickly for some reason. Tried replacing the lipo thinking it had a cell going bad, but the new pack does it as well. Then it ran the pack down to zero volts per cell even though the switch was off. Not sure which radio to try now. I have never liked Futaba, and the new Sanwa stuff is getting to be kinda janky. Thought about the Flysky PRO, but see a lot of people having constant issues with them too. Maybe I'll give KO a try.

Did you switch the battery type to lipo in the battery screen type? I am using Airtronic M11 an11x with fm and 2.4 modules. Plenty of Rx's out there but the radios iare only 3 channels. I was looking at the Radio link 8x but the telemetry sucks. I won't touch a Futaba 10x. The telemetry is too expensive to buy for each model. Spectrum dropped the 6r pro. The Hitec lynx 4S with proton wasI thought going to be it. for me.

Yes, it was set to the correct battery type. This is a very recent issues. I used the radio for years with no problems. I don't use any telemetry so that isn't a deciding factor for me. The Radio Link response times are not great, especially for racing applications. May be fine for bashers.

Curious what issues people are reporting for FlySky? I have a Noble NB4 and it's been doing great for me, my son still races with the Lynx 4S and I plan to make that a loaner Tx for a track rental. I also have a Graupner X8-E as another backup system.

I can't decide which of these 3 systems are the best

I have raced with Radiopost, KO Propo, Futaba and Sanwa in the past ... honestly performance is a wash, it just comes down to personal preference on weight, feel and features like timer, lap counter telemetry, etc...

From what I have seen at our local track, there have been battery failures (the on in the handle), system failures where the radio just bricks itself, strange glitches occurring after firmware updates, and others that bricked during a firmware update.
